FLYING ANNE broke all records with a total of one hundred international film festival selections and screenings. A Dutch youth documentary never has been this successful.

FLYING ANNE has received a Special Mention at the KUKI Int'l Short Film Festival in Berlin. Laudory speech: "This film deserves a lot of respect, as the title figure talks so open-heartedly about everything, even though she finds it difficult. It is a documentary that isn’t boring for a second and radiates an intense lust for life. That is why we would like to give a Special Mention to FLYING ANNE by Catherine van Campen from the Netherlands."

FLYING ANNE has won the first prize of the jury and the public award at the Curt.doc festival in Catalonia. This is the 17th international award for the short film of Catherine van Campen.

The Best Bosifest 2012 Screenplay Plaque was awarded to FLYING ANNE at the Bosifest 2012 filmfestival in Belgrade, Serbia. This is the 16h international prize for the film since its world premier at IDFA in 2011.

FLYING ANNE was awarded a Special Jury Mention for Excellence in Cinematography at Sebastopol International Documentary Film Festival. The jury described the film as "a very accomplished and lyrical film with some phenomenal photography and an intimate, compelling character study."

FLYING ANNE won the UPEC Price (University Paris Est Creteil) of the 34ème Festival International de Films de Femmes de Créteil.

FLYING ANNE won the prize for Best Short Documentary at Festival REGARD sur le court métrage au Saguenay in Canada. This weekend the film also won the 2nd Prize at the ImagéSanté Festival in Liège, Belgium.

FLYING ANNE is included in the 2012 Hot Doc's Docs For School program, in 2011 more than 320 schools and 60,000 students participated during the 10 days of the festival.

The film also will be featured in the Prix Jeunesse Int'l catalogue and presented in the Media Bar during the festival in Munich.

FLYING ANNE won awards for best short film at both RIDM in Canada and Festival dei Popoli in Florence, Italy. FLYING ANNE received an Honourable Mention at the Picture this... Int'l Film Festival in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

FLYING ANNE has won the Golden Olive award for Best Children's TV Programma at the Bar TV Fest in Montenegro. At the Chicago Int'l Children's Film Festival the film won The Children’s Jury Second Prize for Documentary Film.

This October FLYING ANNE won the Best Short award at DocuWest in Golden, CO, USA. Earlier this year the film won the Best of Festival award at the FOCUS Film Festival in Redding, CA, USA.

In May FLYING ANNE won the prestigious award for Best Short Documentary at Hot Docs, the largest and most important documentary film festival in North America.

Jury Hot Docs: 'this is a film that impressed the jury because of its ability to bring viewers into the world of its young subject with great sensitivity and skill. Through bold camera work we're drawn into a visceral and moment-to-moment experience of emotions and struggles. It achieves a genuine sense of transcendence through its balance of verité elements and lyrical imagery.'

Just before that the film received the audience award for Best Short Film at Independent Film Festival Boston.

In April FLYING ANNE received the award for best short documentary at the prestigious documentary film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon, Switzerland. The film by Catherine van Campen also won the award for best film at Superfest International Disability Film Festival in Berkeley, USA.

FLYING ANNE was premiered on November 21st 2010 at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA).
